This is an introductory course that will guide you through appropriate resources available to you and draw on BSRIA's experiences of best practice.

Aims
  • To introduce industry best practice strategies, processes, techniques and points of reference for the management, operation and maintenance of building facilities
  • To focus on the "hard services" elements of facilities management, including mechanical, electrical and public health services in buildings

Outcomes

Delegates will gain an understanding of what it takes to succesfully manage a building, and will know where to look for more detailed information in particular areas.

Delegates are provided with a copy of all the slides presented and BSRIA publication BG 3/2008 Maintenance for Building Services. Copies of this publication are available for purchase from the BSRIA Bookshop.

The Lecturers
 
Jo Harris 
Jo has a background in building services maintenance and FM including factories, data centres and commercial offices. She is responsible for the BSRIA Operation & Maintenance Benchmarking Network and has been analysing operational and customer satisfaction data for the last six years. 

Nigel Anderson
Nigel heads up the Design and FM Innovation Team at BSRIA. He has a background in the construction industry and extensive experience as a facilities management specialist having supported and managed a wide range of workplace services. He joined BSRIA in 2006.
