COMIT (Construction Opportunities for Mobile IT)

COMIT is a centre of excellence for the implementation of mobile IT in the UK construction industryCOMIT consists of a group of construction, information communication technology (ICT), research and development, and dissemination companies, aiming to become a Centre of Excellence for the implementation of Mobile IT in the UK Construction Industry.

BSRIA has been involved with COMIT, as the Secretariat, from its outset in 2003 as a two-year government part-funded project. It is now fully funded by its 40 members who offer:

• proven technologies
• real-life projects to measure impact
• information to promote their uptake

COMIT takes proven technologies and applies them within the construction environment, providing the support required to achieve innovation and the commercial exploitation of new ideas.

COMIT members work together in cross-industry teams to deploy solutions and best practices that will shape the industry's future. They share early results giving their businesses a competitive advantage.
